Weekly Update and Bulletin From Fr. Robert Miclean – November 3, 2013

Holy Archangels Financial Update

$1700 was pledged on Commitment Sunday for 2014, similar to 2013.  We thank God for those who have stepped forward in faith and given to the Lord for the upbuilding of this church with their time, talents, and treasure!  At the same time, our need is greater: having entered the second year of the three year OCA Mission Grant, which means that we will receive $400 less per month than in 2013 beginning January 2014.

We are moving (!), God willing, to our own space and are in final negotiations! Our rent will be double, i.e., $1200 plus utilities.  We need to make up this gap.  We thank God for each person who has pledged.  We ask you to prayerfully consider adding a bit more to your pledge (every extra dollar gets us closer to our need).  Those who have not yet pledged, whether that is $5 per month or $500, please consider filling out a pledge form and place it in the offering basket or box, so we may know where we stand and what doors we can, with God’s help, walk through in faith.

May our Lord God Jesus Christ bless the hands and means of our provision for Holy Archangels Orthodox Mission and may we continue to grow in spirit and in numbers as a living witness to His love, power, healing, and glory!

May Christ our true God bless you!                        Yours in His love, Fr. Robert+

Troparion              (Resurrection) Tone 2
When You descended to death, O Life Immortal,
You destroyed hell with the splendor of Your Godhead.
And when from the depths You raised the dead,
all the powers of heaven cried out://
“O Giver of life, Christ our God, glory to You!”
Troparion              (Martyrs) Tone 3
You were pillars of the Church, O servants of godliness,
and you humbled the proud worshippers of fire.
Much afflicted hierarch Aképsimas, Joseph the presbyter and Áethalas the deacon,
pray to ↑Christ our God
to grant us His great mercy!
Troparion            (Holy Archangels)  Tone 4
Commanders of the heavenly hosts, // we who are unworthy beseech you:
by your prayers encompass us beneath the wings of your immaterial glory,
and faithfully preserve us who fall down and cry to you://
“Deliver us from all harm, for you are the Commanders of the Powers on high!”
Kontakion              (Resurrection) Tone 2
Hell became afraid, O almighty Savior,
seeing the miracle of Your Resurrection from the tomb!
The dead arose!  Creation, with Adam, beheld this and rejoiced with You,//
and the world, my Savior, praises You forever.
Kontakion            (Martyrs) Tone 2
You celebrated the mysteries blamelessly, O wise one,
and became yourself an acceptable sacrifice, O divinely blessed one.
You gloriously drank of the cup of Christ, Holy Akepsimas.
Together with your fellow sufferers you are praying unceasingly to Christ God for us all.
Kontakion            (Holy Archangels) Tone 2
Commanders of God’s armies // and ministers of the divine glory,
princes of the bodiless Angels // and guides of mankind;
ask for what is good for us, and for great mercy,// Supreme Commanders of the Bodiless Hosts
