Weekly Update and Bulletin From Fr. Robert Miclean – November 25, 2018

Having just celebrated Thanksgiving, we’re reminded of the importance of giving thanks to God for His work in our lives: healing us, growing us, saving us.  Giving thanks is not something we can afford to do just once a year, of course: thanking God, remembering God as the Giver of all that is good, is an important sign of how strong our relationship and communion with God is. We can take God’s work in our lives for granted.  Do we give thanks to God for His work in us?  Do we give thanks to God for this Mission?   Do we dare even thank God for the trials and challenges He allows in our lives that force us to depend more, trust more, in Him? Give thanks with a grateful heart and consider what we can render to the Lord for all His bounty to us!  Jesus Christ bless you, Fr. Robert+

2019 Pledges/CommitmentsWe give back a ”first fruits” pledge to Christ from what He’s so mercifully given and entrusted to us.  Everything we have is a gracious gift from God.  Let us be as those servants who used their talentswisely and to God’s glory (Matt. 25:23).  If you have not done so yet, please offer your pledge of talents today.  To grow in faith and sustain and grow our Mission “in spirit and in numbers,” please give generously and faithfully. “Let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver”(II Cor. 9:7).

When thestonehad been sealed by the Jews,// while the soldiers were guarding Thy most pure body,// Thou didst riseon the third day, O Savior, // grantinglifeto the world.

The powers of heaven therefore cried to Thee, O Giver of Life:

“Glory to Thy Resurrection, O Christ! Glory to Thy Kingdom!//

Glory to Thy dispensation, O Thou who lovest of mankind!”

Today is the prelude of the good willof God, // of the preaching of the salvation of mankind. // The Virgin appears in the Temple of God, // in anticipation proclaiming Christto all.

Let us rejoice and singto her: // “Rejoice, O Fulfillment //

of the Creator’s dispensation!”

O holy athlete,// thou didst gloriously amaze the ends of the earth with the miracles Of God.// On the day of thy honored memorial,// beyond nature, thou didst cause the waters of the seato withdraw// for those who came earnestly to the divinely-built church  // holding thy precious relics.//After thepeople left,  // thou didst wondrously cause the sea to returnto the shore.//All-wondrous Clement, entreat Christ God that our soulsmay be saved!

Troparion                (Angels) Tone 4

O Commanders of the heavenly hosts,// we who are unworthy beseechyou:// by your prayers encompass us beneath the wings of your immaterial glory,// and faithfully preserve us who fall down and cryto you://Deliver us from all harm, for you are the Commanders of the Powers on high!

As a branch bearing much fruituponthe earth,

propagated by the cutting of tortures, O astonishing one,

thou didst put forth ripe bunches of grapesever distilling the sweet-new vine of salvation, gladdening the hearts of the faithful.

Therefore, as we gather to keepthy holy memorial, we rejoice

and magnify Christ. // O greatly-suffering hierarch, intercedewith ChristGod// that remission of sinsmay be granted to those who celebrate the feast of thy memorial with love!
