His Beatitude Metropolitan Jonah
On Wednesday March 28th at 6:30pm for Presanctified Liturgy at the St. John’s College Boathouse His Beatitude Metropolitan Jonah graced us by attending the service and staying for our fasting potluck. His Beatitude’s visit gave us support and strength as we journey towards Holy Pascha.
Holy Week is fast upon us. From Palm Sunday to Holy Pascha we journey from Christ’s triumphant yet humble entry into Jerusalem to the cross, the grave, the empty tomb and the joyous resurrection on the third day.
Through anemnesis, these life saving events are made present for us in the services of Holy Week. I encourage you now, if you have not already, to set aside all earthly cares, and prioritize this blessed week, which comes but once a year, to journey to the Passion, to attend the divine and deifying services offered you here at Holy Archangels. We will journey together to a most joyous and holy Pascha.
