Weekly Update and Bulletin From Fr. Robert Miclean – October 7, 2018

This Saturday we remembered St. Innocent, Enlightener of North America and Metropolitan of Moscow who together with St. Herman, St. Tikhon, and others embody the evangelistic zeal of our spiritual forbearers in this Land.   St. Innocent risked life and limb to bring the light of Christ to the darkness of Alaska; he turned the people of Alaska from the darkness and error of paganism to the light and truth of Christ. We, who are his spiritual descendants in this land, thank God for his witness, we are chastened by his example of self-sacrifice, humility, and love.  We ask his prayers that we, individually and corporately as Holy Archangels Mission may continue to struggle to live out our faith in our daily lives with greater zeal, not counting the costs and not trusting in our own strength, which is powerless.  Pray for us holy St. Innocent before the throne of Christ God, that we may learn to put our trust and reliance on God, that He may work in us and through us to the glory and honor of His holy Name: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Christ our true God bless you! Fr. Robert+

2019 Pledges/Commitments:We begin now to prayerfully consider what God would have us give of our Time, Talents, and Treasure for 2019.  We give back to Christ from what He’s so mercifully entrusted to us.  Everything we have is a gracious gift from God.  Let us be as those servants who used their talentswisely and to God’s glory (Matt. 25:23).  We offer up our 2019 Pledge Formsduring the Divine Liturgy on Sunday, Oct. 21.  To grow in faith and grow the Mission “in spirit and in numbers,” please give generously and faithfully. “Let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver”(II Cor. 9:7).
